Goodnight says Kokomo residents should be able to access other grocery stores already in the city using the free public transportation system.

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight says it comes as no surprise that the two Marsh supermarket locations in the city are closing.

Marsh secured buyers for 26 stores, but a total of 18 are closing down as the Indiana-based chain goes through bankruptcy procedures.

Goodnight says his focus is on the impact to the Marsh employees.

“My first concern though obviously is with them, there are still a lot of long time employees there so our first concern is with them and their families,” Goodnight says.
